STA 2023 - Elementary Statistics Credits: 3
Prerequisites: Completion of MAT 1033 with a grade of “C” or higher or a satisfactory score on a placement test. In this course students will utilize descriptive and inferential statistical methods in contextual situations, using technology as appropriate. The course is designed to increase problem-solving abilities and data interpretation through practical applications of statistical concepts. This course is appropriate for students in a wide range of disciplines and programs. Topics will include graphs, measures of center, measures of variation, linear correlation and regression, probability, binomial distributions, normal distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
