The Bachelor of Science in Social and Human Services program prepares students for human services careers by fostering critical thinking, ethical practice, effective communication, and foundational knowledge to positively impact clients. Through a variety of learning experiences, students build on prior knowledge to enhance their skills and understanding, enabling them to address local community needs and drive meaningful change. This degree provides students with the skills and credentials required to enter the workforce or pursue graduate studies. The curriculum is aligned to articulate into local graduate programs in social and human services. 

This degree will require a total of 120 semester credits and be a 2+2 program articulating from the Associate in Arts (AA) degree. All applicants will be required to have an earned associates degree prior to admission to include a total of 36 credits of general education coursework and 24 baccalaureate prerequisite and elective credits.

Lower-Level Specialized Courses (42 credit hours) Required


Lower-Level Courses (18 credit hours)


These 18 credit hours are included within the 36 credit hours of general education or within the 42 credit hours of the lower-level specialized courses. 

Additional Lower-Level Courses


Choose additional credit hours of articulated lower-level courses that are AA degree electives. The following courses are recommended: CLP 2140, DEP 2002, DEP 2004, DEP 2302. 

Upper-Level Courses (42 credit hours)


Students must complete all 27 credit hours of upper-level core courses and 15 credit hours of upper-level elective courses. 

Required Total Credit Hours: 120
