EMS 2659 - Paramedic Field/Clinical Internship Credits: 5
Prerequisites: EMS 2604 , EMS 2604L , and EMS 2667 with a grade of “C” or higher. Corequisite: EMS 2605 , EMS 2920 , EMS 2605L (240 field hours)
This course allows students to correlate all of the didactic background in the paramedic courses with advanced patient care and offers the students opportunities to demonstrate competency in the skills learned in all of the paramedic laboratories. Students will be assigned to specific fire departments to complete field ride time. Students will also perform pediatric clinical rotations during the first part of the semester. Students will perform various emergency medical modalities and procedures under the direct supervision of a paramedic preceptor. This course will focus on all treatment modalities as final preparation for the state certification examination and a career as a paramedic.
