ETI 1622 - Concepts of Lean and Six Sigma

This course examines the quality management principles of the Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma theories of continuous improvement. Lean Manufacturing involves identifying and eliminating non-value adding activities in design, production, and supply chain management. Topics covered include continuous flow, kaizen, the 5 S’s and value-stream mapping. Six Sigma is a statistical problem-solving method that concentrates on measurement methods, data collection and graphical methods of presenting findings to control and improve processes.
